Why the short songs...
because I am barely holding on to being able to capture the many ideas I get daily..when possible thanks to my dying old and beat and slow Macbook mid 2010 13incher..that I was handed down to me by my MIL around 2017ish. After working on ..starting out ..home recording with a lowgrade Compaq and HP towers..starting with Cakewalk 9.0 in 2004...then moving up to a copy of Adobe 1.5 cool edit or something like that..trying Sonar..but failing since my computer was never powerful enough.and all those glitches and stuff were annoying..and creative cock blockers..lol.. I learned..taught myself the basics..learned some Reason Prophead as well..
Finally started learning some Garageband via using the local Southglenn library FREE music studio that started around 2013..2014..or so.
Unable to move up to Logic X for 200 bucks since this Macbook is barely working with GBand..I'm stuck, making the most of what I have as you should do.
Yes..there are other Daws..software ...but I have grown very fond of GBand as it allows me to record fast, decently..with the short time I have to write and record, create from scratch in less than 3 hours ...as you can't spend 10 sessions or 4 hour blocks when you have a family.
I try to get the most I can done within an hour to 2 or 3.
Always resulting in a fast mix,..poor mans basic mastering of sorts..
and well..upload.

Writing around the drums..as a real drummer would be GREAT..but impossible to write with as fast as I write.
I thrive on the drums..
creating the drum track in sections to get me started..intro and V 1 ..and then..build drums up while I track guitar L and R.
After guitars are done..I drop the bass in..
Then ..I fiddle with lyrical ideas...solidify lyrics..find a melody..flow,..vibe...and do a couple to few takes...or 1 if I'm lucky..some back ups when I feel it...no solos..mostly..since I am a riffer..not s shredder..Never can find an interested lead player to create a dope guitar team..so..though I love to have solos...dig tunes with solo rippn through...complimenting the song..and simply going off at times..
I am not that dude..I focus on Lyrics, Riffs, Bass parts, drum arranging, Vocals...mixing down decently... and well..letting my creative creatures of sound out and about to live this life..exist..as I do..for time is short and times are crazy...

Recording it all with 2 old worn axes..
my main ibanez Ex Series frankenstein axe I've had for about 25 years..that has had a few jobs done on it leaving it jacked up..with a decent neck but not as reliable and great sounding ..and clear as I'd like for the money I put in..
secondly..and old worn Arc thrift Starcaster junker that barely works...only for riffs..no full chords..won't stay in tune well..pickup is stock..is decent..better than my Ibanez..neck is dead..tuning keys junk too..
The last addiction was a 179 bucker budget Jackson 7 string that I use as a 6 string..less noisy than both the other junkers..
only good for riffs...not even for a decent simple solo..
thinner stock pickups..dryer..but it works when that is all I've dot to work with..as it at least stays in tune for the most part...and sounds decent.
Amp..Fender Mustang III..as I try and dial in much more than it actually offers ..using my imagination..lol.
Mic'd with a Shure Vocal mic from my band days..
Lead vocals..also..just use the Vocal Shure Mic...
I got tired of unplugging and plugging..
as I have the Focusrite 2i2..two inputs..
so I usually keep the Mic for guitar amp and vocals in..to save the jack from going on per all the usage..in and outs..
I also run the bass through the Fender Mustang III..
Bass was bought at a pawn shop last year..Squire P Bass ..about 10 years old..was pretty beat up..tuners a bit worn..neck..etc..pretty used..but it passed the test when I tried it out and I traded some speakers ..for cash..applied to the price of 110 and got it for about 70 bucks...for a decent..ok playing bass..
Which I had better..but..hey..when you make no money..from your art..investing in it.with bills and family ..isn't easy..
After leaving the band life..7 bands..tons of gigs behind..I was totally no longer needed my old crate blue voodoo half stack...though it was stolen from me before I could sell it and part with it and move on to my more acoustic, synth, piano keys other projects....
Until I got this amp as a Bday gift a few years back.
It works for what it is..and what I'm doing...as a nobody home recording artist that can't find any other interested musicians to work together..play live..put out albums...
Oh well..that drama might be ridiculous too..so I'm better off just doing what I do as a creator of music..home recording artist..amateur etc..

hence..short songs are because I have to limit song times...
at times..it work..at times it poops out and I stop and don't lengthen tracks... Short..simple..whatever works..

My faith and hope for sharing my music with many has died.
My recording daw computer old Macbook is dying..
The world is a total muck,
I further am not good with people..apparently..
I don't do well with that...
as I am creative..an artist ..a parent..a hubs..
but I am not a good sharer of my art..
and I turn more people off than on ..
I am not the kind of person people gravitate towards.
Maybe someone else with better offline online people skill
that won't frighten off the masses..might dig the music I've done enough to share it..lol..Right...

When I die..I wonder if my music will die alone with me..
I mean..hey..I'm alive and if I don't share it...put it out there..post it..it basically dies ..while I breathe... So I suppose..it will die along with me at some point in the future...
I know im not the only one...at least..that this happens too...
